Towards the end of the 70s, as the nation emerged from a deep slumber induced by political upheavals, a small plastic mouldings manufacturing outfit in Mumbai — the country’s commercial capital — identified a potential gap in the industrial machinery sector.
At that time, the industry was dominated by Western brands and seemed cursed to remain inefficient and uneconomical in the global market
The Beginning
Two brothers, armed with process knowledge and limited finance, set out to design and develop control switches — a critical component needed in almost all machines for automation.
Through the early 80s, they took measured steps, supported by the textile boom, and later strengthened by the post-liberalisation growth of the 90s.
